About Me

Nasser Rafidia

Born in Chicago, Illinois I have grown up in Chicago and the suburbs surrounding Chicago my whole life. I currently reside in Franklin Park, IL and work for the local municipality in the Water and Sewer Division. I am married to my wonderful wife Stephanie, and we have three amazing boys together.

Growing up, I idolized the concept of a "reniasance man". The idea that someone could be reckognized for more than just one skill always fascinated me. Like a superhero with multiple superpowers, I wanted to have that more than anything.

As I have grown, I try to apply my skills and talents to as many projects as possible. I have never shied away from a challenge, and many of my successes are strictly based off of my perseverience mindset.

In November of 2022, we completed our family, by adding Amirah Oceana Rafidia to our home when we adobted her from Wright-Way Rescue in Morton Grove, Illinois.

Our house never has a dull moment, especially now with a puppy around to keep us on our toes. She is our world, and we are so happy she came into our lives.

Most of my spare time revolves around my family. We are a soccer family, with all three boys playing for our local soccer club Thunder Soccer Club. Not only do I coach the boy's teams, I am also an active board member for the non-for-profit that runs the club. We area also involved in our church, St. Gertrude Catholic Church. I am also an officer for the Knights of Columbus council that is affiliated with our parish. We keep a busy schedule, but wouldn't have it any other way.

In the little bit of free time that I do have some of my hobbies include music, food and travel. I play bass guitar, or atleast try to, and used to be in a band in my teen years and early twenties with some pretty amazing musicians/friends (Domestic Play). We are all still real close to this day, and I consider them the brothers I never had. I still love to listen to and play music any chance I get, and I am always looking for other musicians to jam with.

Any time the weather is decent outside (remember... Chicago), you will find me lighting up my grills and smoker. I love to grill - and cook really anything for that matter. I like the freedom to create, and then the pleasure of enjoying your creation and sharing it with friends and family. If you are reading this, feel free to bring something for me to grill, and I will take on the challenge - this is your formal invitation.

And, when time allows it WE LOVE TO TRAVEL. We try to sneak away to Wisconsin Dells any chance we get (check this video out). Weather it's tropical adventures in Mexico, thrill seeking at Disney World or Learning about science at NASA we are always down for a get away. Stephanie and I got engaged and married fairly young. Lots of people always asked us if we would regret starting a family before traveling more, or being more settled. We always answered "no - we want to do that with our kids". Now we are doing just that, and loving every chance we get.

UPDATE: In November of 2024 I opened up a restuarant in my home town called The Goal Line Pizzeria and Sports Bar. It was a dream of mine for years to get back into an industry that I grew up in and be able to show my kids what the business is about. I am so happy to have this oppoortunity and look forward to the many challenges (and successes) it will bring!

Another hobby/pasion of mine is design - digital design and page layout to be precise. I enjoy filling a canvas, and creating pieces that are informative and eye catching. Fliers, business forms, and invitations are my specialties, but I have even been known to do a logo or two fro time to time.

Here is some of my work, please understand that I am not a professional by any means. some of my techniques are crude or unconventional, but in the end I am alway happy with the outcome.

Finally, growing up my parents instilled in me the value of hard work and being able to benefit from it. In 2016, I got back into business with the help of a business partner. We own an Amusements company called Push Play that services businesses in Northern Illinois, with hopes of expanding throughout Southern Wisconsin and Western Indiana. I continue to try to strive for a better future for my family. That being said, I would love an opportunity to get to know you and maybe work on a project together some time. Don't be shy, just send me an email and we can bounce around some ideas.
